Here is a glimpse into a day-in-the-life-of a Business Development – Financial Planning Associate:

Drawing on previous experience in a financial advisory role, you will be responsible for prepare and coordinate financial planning activities for client meetings and subsequently execute strategies with clients post-meeting. This includes working directly with the advisor team, support staff, and clients on a daily basis. We’d love for you to have an entrepreneurial and client-focused mind-set.   • Prepare presentations and concept pieces for use in implementing financial planning strategies.
  • Prepare clients’ financial, tax, estate, and insurance planning items for each client meeting.
  • Coordinate information with clients’ tax and legal advisors
  • Coordinate more complex financial planning with the IG Advanced Financial Planning Team
  • Interact with clients daily through incoming client calls, meetings on and offsite, along with executing trade orders and providing information on recommended products, services and strategies.
  • Coordinate and managing support staff to ensure proper execution of recommended strategies, business To qualify for this opportunity, you should possess:
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial sales/advisory experience, preferably in a private wealth management environment
  • Completed MFDA licensing requirements.
  • CFP, CFA, CIM, and CPA Designations each would be considered an asset.
  • LLQP certification would be desired (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas to a range of clients.
  • Sound knowledge of personal and corporate investment management techniques, financial planning, personal and corporate taxation, pension plans, estate planning, and life insurance concepts.
  • Demonstrated detailed-oriented work and a desire to achieve excellence.

  • Compensation range of $70,000 - $120,000+*, and is a combination of salary and bonus based on experience, business achievement, and individual/team goals.
