Stephen Struthers, Executive Financial Consultant, is the Founder of Struthers Wealth Management, a team consulting with IG Wealth Management. Over 11 years Stephen has built a practice that now manages over $92,000,000 in assets and provides a full range of financial products and services to high net worth families, professionals, and business owners on Vancouver Island and throughout BC.

Drawing on previous experience in a financial advisory role, you will be responsible for establishing new client engagements, providing financial planning advice to clients and financial planning software support to the team.

We are seeking a team player who is self-motivated, disciplined and who is passionate about financial planning and client service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning Software support:

  • Learn and become the practice expert in our new financial planning software – Conquest.
  • Work with clients to gather accurate information to populate client profiles within the software.
  • Work with a lead consultant on building and updating financial plans.
  • Assist in transitioning client plans from our previous software to our new software.

Client Engagements and Financial Planning Advice:

  • Establish new client engagements by drawing from your connections (or building new ones) and working with the support of the team to onboard qualified prospects into the practice as clients.
  • Service a select group of clients within the practice. This will entail meeting with clients for annual financial planning review appointments to update their financial plan and provide them with comprehensive financial planning advice in the areas of Investment Management and Portfolio Construction, Retirement Planning, Insurance Planning, Tax Planning, Estate Planning and Cash Flow and Debt Management. You will have access to team specialists in these areas to assist you with developing more complex planning recommendations.

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY, YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • 5 years of client relationship experience in the financial services industry.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, or on-track to obtain this designation within 2 years.
  • Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC), Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) licenced or equivalent.
  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) or willing to obtain.
  • Strong personal skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships.
  • Customer service orientation with a demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients both on the phone and face-to-face.
  • Must be a team player.
